Healthy State is Foundation of Prosperous State: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that serving humanity is equivalent to serving God. Caring for health of citizens is government’s responsibility. A healthy state is essential for building a prosperous Madhya Pradesh. He emphasised that providing convenient, affordable, timely and quality healthcare services is a top priority of the government. The government is fully committed to fulfilling its resolution for welfare of the poor.

Dr. Yadav said the newly inaugurated machines are not just equipment, but a symbol of service, compassion and commitment to government’s promises. He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly installed CT Scan and MRI machines at Hamidia Hospital, affiliated with Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal. With this, the state’s largest government hospital now has access to cutting-edge diagnostic facilities.

The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, healthcare facilities in the state are continuously improving. The new MRI machine inaugurated at Hamidia Hospital is like a life-saver in critical times, speeding up diagnosis. He said the state government is working towards equipping all government hospitals with modern diagnostic machines and enhancing patient facilities, reflecting the government’s dedication to public health.

He also said that medical colleges and hospitals are being launched under PPP model—a first-of-its-kind model in the country—where investors and institutions are being provided 25 acres of land for just one rupee to establish medical colleges. Four medical colleges have already been allotted land under this scheme. The government is working on development in all sectors.

The CM said all government hospitals are being equipped with advanced diagnostic tools so that people can access affordable and proper health services. Gandhi Medical College and Hamidia Hospital, with their long-standing reputation and commitment to service, are now equipped with latest technologies. With new machines, patients no longer need to travel elsewhere for complex tests.

Dr. Yadav also highlighted that the government has launched air ambulance and helicopter services for critical patients, which have already helped save many lives by providing timely treatment. He stressed that real improvement in healthcare comes not just from making policies but from their effective implementation, which the state government is doing with firm resolve.

Public Healthcare Services Expanding Daily in Quality and Capacity

The CM said that with inauguration of the new CT and MRI machines at Hamidia Hospital, approximately 2,000 OPD and 1,500 IPD patients will benefit daily. This will greatly help poor families who can now access expensive tests and treatments. He informed that currently, 17 medical colleges are operational in state. Madhya Pradesh’s first “Medicity” and medical college is coming up in Ujjain, along with the country’s largest medical device park at Vikram Udyogpuri.

CT scan services are already available in 50 district and 3 civil hospitals. There are currently 2,575 MBBS and 1,357 PG seats in government medical colleges. Across the state, there are 40 medical colleges (government and private), 308 nursing colleges, and 800 Health & Wellness Centers.

Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, over 4.37 crore Ayushman Niramyam cards have been issued in Madhya Pradesh. The CM said that under Rahveer Yojana, people who help road accident victims reach hospital within one hour will receive a reward of Rs 25,000.
