Food and Clean Water Distributed to Stranded Drivers Along NH 306 & 06

Kolasib : This afternoon, at the Kolasib DC Bungalow, a meeting of the emergency working committee was held regarding arrangements for food and water for the stranded truck drivers along the highway. The meeting was chaired by FCS&CA Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova and attended by Deputy Speaker and Bialtu MLA Pu Lalfamkima, where urgent decisions were made to provide immediate relief including food, shelter, and drinking water.

Following the discussions, relief materials were distributed today to the stranded drivers along NH 306 & 06. The responsibility of distributing aid from the Kolasib side towards the north was assigned to KDTOA, MTDA and their respective support teams, while aid distribution towards the south was assigned to the Kolasib Sub-Hqrs YMA.

The relief distribution began today itself, providing essentials such as rice, lentils, oil, instant noodles, and clean drinking water to the affected drivers.

Currently, due to ongoing widening work along NH 306 & 06, heavy landslides have blocked the roads, causing major traffic disruption. The key affected areas where vehicles are stranded include Rengtetlangsang, Bilkhawtlir, Bualpui, Kawnpui, and Khamrang.
