Andhra and Singapore Strengthen Ties in Green Energy and Tech Infrastructure
Singapore : Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met Singapore’s Minister of Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Dr. Tan See Leng, during his visit to Singapore to explore avenues for collaboration in green energy, data centres, logistics, and housing.
During the meeting, part of his two-day visit, Chief Minister Naidu highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s progress in green energy and sought greater cooperation from Singapore in renewable energy, transmission corridors, data centre development, and ports infrastructure. He emphasised the need for Singapore’s expertise in supporting the state’s rapid infrastructure growth.
Acknowledging Singapore’s leadership in global logistics, CM Naidu requested support in enhancing port and logistics projects in Andhra Pradesh. He also pointed out the importance of collaborating with Singapore on human resource development, science and technology, and technical training.
Referring to previous concerns raised by Singaporean firms about administrative bottlenecks, CM Naidu assured Minister Tan of his government’s commitment to transparency and reform. He emphasised that his administration prioritises investment-friendly policies and is eager to rebuild deep-rooted ties with Singapore.
Recalling his past governance in Hyderabad, CM Naidu shared how the city adopted Singapore’s urban planning and cleanliness models, and how Singapore’s development approach had inspired reforms in Hyderabad’s infrastructure.
Extending the conversation further, CM Naidu invited Minister Tan to attend the upcoming Global Investors Summit in Visakhapatnam to deepen bilateral economic ties.
In response, Minister Tan See Leng welcomed the invitation and expressed Singapore’s strong interest in working with Andhra Pradesh in housing, urban development, and clean energy sectors. He also noted the scope for joint ventures between both sides and appreciated Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to secure global partnerships, including through the World Bank.
The meeting was attended by senior Andhra officials, including Ministers Nara Lokesh, P. Narayana, and T.G. Bharat, along with representatives from the state government.
