Maharashtra to Build Cultural Complex in Delhi; CM Fadnavis Reviews Project Blueprint

New Delhi : The blueprint for a new multi-purpose Cultural Complex to be built by the Government of Maharashtra in Delhi was recently presented to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This follows an announcement made during the concluding ceremony of the 98th All India Literary Conference, where the state committed to establishing the centre in the national capital.

The proposed site for the cultural complex is located within the Maharashtra Sadan premises in Delhi. The Resident Commissioner and Secretary, R. Vimala, formally presented the layout and plans to the Chief Minister during his recent visit to the capital. In a review meeting related to Maharashtra Sadan, she outlined several proposals, with the Cultural Complex taking centre stage.

The new facility will include a multi-purpose auditorium, residential arrangements for shortlisted candidates appearing for UPSC and other civil services interviews, a spacious library, reading rooms, and various other amenities. These features aim to promote not just Maharashtra’s rich culture but also support aspiring civil servants from the state.

In addition to the cultural complex, Ms. Vimala made a detailed presentation on other administrative aspects such as the housing facilities for officers and staff within the Maharashtra Sadan premises. Plans were also shared to establish a year-round exhibition and sales space for seasonal fruits from Maharashtra and products made by women’s self-help groups.

The proposal further includes the organisation of a Maharashtra Festival in Delhi, showcasing traditional folk culture and various cultural programs that highlight the essence of the state. A request for financial allocation to support the initiative has also been made.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded positively to all proposals and instructed the administration to initiate further action to bring the plans to fruition.
