All Departments Directed to Prepare District-Wise Reports and Repair Damaged Buildings: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has directed all government departments to immediately repair damaged and dilapidated buildings to prevent any potential accidents. He made it clear that in the event of any mishap resulting in loss of life, individual accountability will now be fixed.

The Chief Minister also instructed officials to prepare a list of all government buildings, schools, and Anganwadi centres constructed over the last six years and ordered the formation of a special state-level committee to review the quality of construction.

Sharma gave these directions during a meeting held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday, where he issued special instructions regarding old and unsafe structures. He said that approval for repairs should be sought from the disaster management fund, with timely proposals prepared and work initiated without delay.

Emphasising the need to focus on rural areas, the Chief Minister said that proper inspection, maintenance, and repair of buildings must be ensured. He urged employees working in government offices to responsibly report any unsafe buildings to the concerned authorities.

Anganwadi Centres in Unsafe Buildings Relocated

Sharma stressed the importance of regular inspections and maintenance of Anganwadi centres across the state. He reminded officials that the state government had allocated ₹50 crore in the 2025-26 budget to repair buildings housing 5,000 Anganwadi centres.

The meeting was informed that unsafe and damaged Anganwadi centres had already been relocated to secure premises.

Repairs for Schools, Hospitals, and Public Offices

The Chief Minister directed the Public Works Department (PWD), Education Department, Women and Child Development Department, and other related agencies to conduct immediate inspections of all government offices, particularly schools, hospitals, and other public buildings, and to prepare district-wise reports with detailed information.

He instructed departments to undertake repair work promptly based on the findings.

During the meeting, departments including Education, Women and Child Development, Panchayati Raj, and Medical and Health presented reports on damaged and dilapidated buildings along with their repair plans.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant and senior officials from various departments.
