‘Shyamchi Aai’ Wins Best Marathi Film at the National Film Awards

71st National Film Awards Announced

New Delhi, Aug 25 : The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today announced the 71st National Film Awards for the year 2023. In this announcement, the Marathi film ‘Shyamchi Aai’, directed by Sujay Dahake, has been declared the Best Marathi Feature Film. Additionally, the Marathi films ‘Aatmapamphlet’, directed by Ashish Bende, and ‘Naal 2’ have been awarded the Golden Lotus Award (Swarna Kamal).

The Best Child Artist Award has been jointly announced for Kabir Khandare for his role in the film ‘Gypsy’, and Trisha Thosar, Shrinivas Pokale, and Bhargav Jagtap for their performances in ‘Naal 2’.

In total, 40 feature film awards, 15 non-feature film awards, and 1 award for Best Writing on Cinema were announced. The feature film jury was chaired by Ashutosh Gowariker, while P. Sheshadri headed the non-feature film jury, and Gopalakrishna Pai chaired the jury for Best Writing on Cinema. The awards were announced across three categories: Feature Films, Non-Feature Films, and Best Writing on Cinema. The award ceremony will be held soon.

Best Actor and Actress Awards

The Best Feature Film Award was declared for the Hindi film ‘12th Fail’. Shah Rukh Khan (for ‘Jawan’) and Vikrant Massey (for ‘12th Fail’) have been jointly declared Best Actor. Rani Mukerji has been announced as the Best Actress.

Ashish Bende Wins Best Debut Director Award for ‘Aatmapamphlet’

Director Ashish Bende has been declared the winner of the Best Debut Director Award for his Marathi film ‘Aatmapamphlet’.
