Indian Railways Setting New Milestones: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a new India is gaining global recognition. Guided by the Prime Minister and under the leadership of Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Indian Railways is achieving remarkable milestones. The launch of the new Bhavnagar–Ayodhya Express is a moment of pride, evoking cultural and spiritual connections with Bhagwan Shri Ram and Shri Krishna, who are central to India’s identity worldwide. CM Dr. Yadav virtually attended and addressed the inauguration of the Jabalpur–Raipur Express and Rewa–Pune (Hadapsar) Express from Ujjain on Sunday. He also flagged off the new trains.
CM Dr. Yadav noted that Madhya Pradesh is now directly connected with Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra through enhanced rail connectivity. The launch of the new express trains will promote not just passenger movement but also trade, business and tourism. The region of Baghelkhand, including the Tiger Safari in Rewa and the sacred Maa Sharda Devi temple in Maihar, will become more accessible. Similarly, Jabalpur, known for its cultural heritage and Bhedaghat are expected to see a rise in tourist footfall.
The Chief Minister highlighted the significant progress made by Indian Railways over the past 11 years, particularly the completion of 100% electrification. He added that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, a record budget of Rs. 2.65 lakh crore has been allocated for Indian Railways in 2025–26. The Jabalpur–Raipur Intercity Express will further strengthen interstate connectivity.
Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasised Prime Minister Modi’s emotional connection with the Indian Railways, which serves as the primary mode of transport for the country’s poor and middle class. He said the government, guided by the Prime Minister’s vision, has undertaken transformative projects over the past decade to modernise the railways. These include new train launches, production of modern coaches and station redevelopment.
Union Minister Shri Vaishnaw said that the new Rewa–Pune train will enhance connectivity and the new Jabalpur–Raipur train will benefit tribal regions. In the past 11 years, 34,000 kilometers of new railway tracks have been laid, averaging 12 kilometers per day. Over 1,300 stations are being redeveloped, positioning India uniquely even among developed nations. He also mentioned that trains like Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express offer premium amenities at affordable rates. “Namo Bharat” trains are improving connectivity between nearby cities. The Union Minister announced plans to soon start a new train from Porbandar to Rajkot, develop a new coach maintenance facility at Ranawad Station and lay a new rail line from Sardiya to Bansjaliya. Minister Shri Vaishnaw also confirmed that the bullet train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad will be launched soon and will complete the journey in just 2 hours and 13 minutes.
The newly launched train services will enhance connectivity among four states—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Gujarat—providing tangible benefits in transportation and commerce. With the new express trains now operational between Jabalpur–Raipur, Rewa–Pune, and Bhavnagar–Ayodhya, a new dimension has been added to India’s railway network expansion.
