Inauguration of 33 kV Power Transformer at Pedgaon in a Grand Ceremony

Farmers Should Avail Solar Agricultural Pump Scheme, Families Should Benefit from PM Surya Ghar Scheme – Guardian Minister Meghana Bordikar

Parbhani, Aug 2025 – The government is making continuous efforts to ensure 24-hour electricity supply with proper voltage to farmers, domestic consumers, and new entrepreneurs. Through various schemes, the government is also encouraging the use of solar energy, and farmers and citizens must take full advantage of these solar energy schemes, urged Minister of State for Energy and Guardian Minister of Parbhani District, Meghana Sakore Bordikar.

Guardian Minister Meghana Bordikar inaugurated the newly installed additional power transformer and the upgraded capacity transformer at Mahavitaran’s 33/11 kV Pedgaon Substation under the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Feeder Phase 2.0 Scheme and Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). She was speaking at the event organized on this occasion.

Former Minister Suresh Warpudkar, Mahavitaran Superintendent Engineer R.K. Tembhurne, Executive Engineers M.P. Vagyani and G.K. Gadekar, Tehsildar Dr. Sandeep Rajpure, Assistant Police Inspector Jeevan Rajguru, Deputy Executive Engineer D.V. Gawhane, and Assistant Engineer Nagesh Dukre were also present.

Guardian Minister Mrs. Bordikar said that farmers had been demanding daytime electricity for many years. Considering this demand, the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme was launched. Under this scheme, substations are being solarized, enabling farmers to receive electricity during the daytime. Additionally, the “Magael Tyala” Solar Agricultural Pump Scheme provides a 90% subsidy to general farmers and a 95% subsidy to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. This has reduced DP burnouts and load shedding incidents. The government is committed to providing sufficient and stable voltage electricity to farmers.

Under the RDSS scheme, additional power transformers have been installed at Takli, Pimpri, Pingli, and Tridhara in the taluka. A developmental plan has been formulated to ensure that the district does not face any electricity shortage for the next 50 years. Also, a special fund will be made available by the Chief Minister through the Asian Development Bank. The newly approved 33 kV substations in Jamb and Singnapur of Parbhani Taluka and additional transformers will soon be completed under this initiative.

The Guardian Minister also appealed to citizens to avail benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Scheme, which provides subsidies. Through this scheme, families can meet their electricity needs and sell surplus power generated back to Mahavitaran, earning revenue. She urged citizens to install solar panels on their rooftops and benefit from the scheme.

Mr. Warpudkar also shared his thoughts on the occasion. The program commenced with a welcome speech by Mr. Tembhurne.

Electricity supply from Mahavitaran’s 33/11 kV Pedgaon Substation reaches 17 villages, serving 2,500 domestic consumers, 270 commercial consumers, 70 industrial consumers, and 3,500 agricultural consumers—totaling 6,340 consumers.

The current capacity of the Pedgaon Substation was 10 MVA (205 MVA), and after the addition of a 5 MVA transformer, it has increased to 15 MVA under the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Feeder 2.0 Scheme. The substation currently has six 11 kV outgoing feeders, with two new 11 kV outgoing feeders being added.

After the commissioning of the upgraded power transformer, the load will be better distributed, voltage quality will improve, and instances of power outages will reduce. This will ensure better quality electricity supply to the connected villages and consumers of the substation.
