CM Yogi inspects Agra division projects, issues strict instructions to officials and public representatives

Agra, Aug 2025 : In a high-level review meeting held in Agra today, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath assessed the real-time progress of development projects in the Agra division, which includes the districts of Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, and Mainpuri. The meeting, organized at the Divisional Commissioner’s office, brought together public representatives, senior officials, and principal secretaries from various departments.

CM Yogi stressed that the review was not a routine inspection, but a mission to ensure development schemes translate into real outcomes. He emphasized the need to bridge the gap between planning and execution by incorporating ground-level feedback from elected representatives into government strategies.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister interacted with each MLA, discussing the key challenges, public expectations, and development priorities of their respective constituencies. He made it clear that every suggestion made by the public representatives must be incorporated into the action plan.

CM Yogi issued strict directions to officials to ensure that development benefits reach the last person in society, aligning with the core goals of good governance.

CM Yogi affirmed that the government has adequate funds for development and directed officials to actively coordinate with public representatives, gather proposals, and ensure proper utilization of the budget. He warned against delays in approvals, noting that unspent funds returning to the treasury undermines the government’s intent. He also emphasized timely and quality completion of all projects.

While reviewing the Public Works Department (PWD), CM Yogi issued key directives, instructing that proposals for roads, bridges, flyovers, bypasses, and inter-state connectivity submitted by MLAs be incorporated into the work plan. He also called for a large-scale pothole-free road campaign to be launched immediately after the monsoon.

CM Yogi reminded officials that roads built by contractors are covered under a guarantee period, and any damage during this time must be repaired by the same contractor. He warned of strict action in cases of negligence. He also directed departments to prepare fresh proposals for constructing small and large bridges over rivers.

During a presentation, the Tourism Department informed that 160 projects worth ₹590 crore are underway in the division. CM Yogi instructed the Charitable Works Department to ensure that roads leading to major urban and rural temples are developed, based on the number of devotees visiting them.

In his review of the Urban Development Department, CM Yogi called urban waterlogging a major challenge. He asked local bodies to come up with effective drainage plans that go beyond just building drains and ensure proper water flow till the final outlet.

The Agra Police Commissioner also gave a presentation on actions taken under ‘Mission Asmita’, focused on tackling illegal religious conversions and crime. CM Yogi appreciated the efforts.

The meeting was attended by several key leaders and ministers, including Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, Women and Child Development Minister Baby Rani Maurya, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay, and Sugarcane Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary. MLAs, MLCs, and senior officers from across the Agra division were also present.
