Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ reviews relief and rescue efforts in Mirzapur
Lucknow, Aug 2025 : Acting on the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government are actively reaching out to flood-affected regions, bringing much-needed relief and support to distressed residents. On Tuesday, several Ministers visited the ground zero of the calamity, personally inspecting the ongoing relief operations and interacting with victims.
The Ministers assured affected families that providing immediate assistance and ensuring uninterrupted supply of relief materials is a top priority of the Yogi government. They emphasized the government’s commitment to standing by the people in this difficult hour. Instructions were issued to local administrations to ensure availability of essential services including food, clean drinking water, medical care, and shelter for those affected by the floods.
In Prayagraj, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya visited a flood relief camp on Tuesday and met with people affected by the disaster. He instructed officials to quickly ensure arrangements for food, drinking water, and other essential services. He also reviewed the flood situation in Prayagraj and Kaushambi and directed officials to resolve issues related to water drainage, sanitation, and other basic problems.
In Bhadohi, Cabinet Minister A.K. Sharma inspected flood-affected villages near the Ganga river and distributed relief materials in Sitamarhi. He assured locals that the government is providing all necessary support and standing firmly with every affected person during this difficult time. The Minister distributed relief packets to over 100 flood victims and handed over cheques of ₹4 lakh each to the families of five people who lost their lives in the disaster.
In Varanasi, Minister Suresh Khanna, along with MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari, visited flood relief camps at Gopi Radha Inter College, Ravindrapuri, and Primary Girls School, Nagwa. Speaking to the flood-affected residents, he said the government and administration are with them. He urged people to immediately report any issues, promising timely assistance. He also handed out chocolates and biscuits to children at the camp.
In Mirzapur, Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi held a meeting with local officials and representatives at the District Panchayat Hall to review the situation in flood-hit areas and relief camps. He directed that nodal officers be assigned to the most affected areas in Chunar and asked for help from SDRF teams to rescue stranded villagers and deliver relief materials. He also instructed the Chief Medical Officer to take preventive measures against waterborne diseases and ensure the spraying of medicines in waterlogged areas.
