Chhattisgarh Government’s Maoist Surrender Relief and Rehabilitation Policy-2025 Showing Results
Raipur, Aug 2025The Chhattisgarh Government’s Maoist Surrender Relief and Rehabilitation Policy-2025, along with the specially launched ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme for the holistic development of remote villages in Bastar division, has paved a new path of development and trust in Naxal-affected areas. Through the convergence of this scheme, the Sukma district administration is successfully integrating surrendered Maoists into the mainstream by connecting them with skill training, rehabilitation, and self-employment opportunities.
Under the guidance of Collector Mr. Devesh Kumar Dhruv, various free training programs in trades are being provided at the Livelihood College and Rural Self-Employment Training Institute. The objective is to make surrendered youth and women financially self-reliant so they can lead a dignified life in society.
Rehabilitation Centre Marks a New Beginning
For surrendered women like Anita Sodi from Konta block, this scheme has brought a new direction to life. Anita shares that the Rehabilitation Centre made her realize that life can be lived with peace and dignity. Livelihood training in tailoring and agriculture has boosted her confidence, and now she plans to start her own tailoring business to secure a better future for her family.
Alongside Anita, six surrendered women, including Ms. Vetti Kanni, Hadme Madavi, and Kadti Vijje, are participating in a month-long tailoring training program at Livelihood College Sukma. Under the ‘Saksham Yojana,’ they will be provided loans ranging from ₹40,000 to ₹2 lakh at a 3% interest rate, along with free sewing machines and certification.
Currently, 30 adolescent girls and women are undergoing training at the Livelihood College in stitching blouses, dresses, school uniforms, and shirts-pants. Additionally, they are being connected with various government schemes like Noni Suraksha Yojana, Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Saksham Yojana, and Women’s Loan Schemes, accelerating the pace of women’s empowerment.
The ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme is ushering an era of development and trust in Bastar. So far, 79 surrendered Maoists have received training in trades such as tailoring, agriculture-nursery, driving, masonry, and entrepreneurship. From next week, 30 more youth will undergo masonry training at RSETI. Currently, 42 trainees (including 21 women) are residing at the Sukma Rehabilitation Centre and are being systematically connected with skill development programs.
Through convergence with schemes like Chief Minister’s Skill Development, Saksham, PM SVANidhi, Startup, Agricultural Entrepreneurship, and Women’s Loan Schemes, self-employment avenues are being opened for youth, heralding a new era of employment, dignity, and development in the remotest villages of Bastar.
The Chhattisgarh Government’s visionary policy and the ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme have proven that when the government reaches people with empathy, opportunities, and skills, transformation is not just possible but inevitable. Bastar’s journey of change will lay a strong foundation for peace, development, and prosperity in the coming times.
