Relief Provided To Drivers Stranded Due To Landslides Along NH 306 & 06

Kolasib, Aug 2025: This afternoon, under the supervision of Home Minister Pu K. Sapdanga and Adviser to Chief Minister Pu TBC Lalvenchhunga, along with the initiative of Pu Lalfamkima, Bialtu MLA and Deputy Speaker, relief distribution was carried out for drivers stranded along NH 306 and 06 due to landslides. The distribution was overseen by Pu Robert C. Lalhmangaiha, Deputy Commissioner of Kolasib, Pu David H. Lalthangliana, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kolasib, and officials from concerned departments.

The relief materials were mobilized from the northern region by KDTOA & MTDA and their supporters, while from the southern side, Kolasib Sub-HQ YMA facilitated the efforts. The relief packages distributed to the stranded drivers included rice, potatoes, lentils, cooking oil, instant noodles, and drinking water.

Currently, road widening and repair works are underway along NH 306 & 06, which have been severely affected by landslides, making several stretches of the highway impassable. The major affected areas where drivers are stranded include Rengtetlangsang, Bilkhawtlir, Bualpui, Kawnpui, and Khamrang.

In light of the difficult conditions, today’s relief distribution was carried out with utmost urgency to provide immediate support to the stranded drivers.
