Relief and rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing in the disaster-affected Dharali region under the supervision and guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The Chief Minister has been stationed in Uttarkashi for the past three days, personally leading the rescue efforts.
This morning, the Chief Minister visited the Matli Helipad near the Uttarkashi district headquarters, issued necessary instructions to officials regarding the rescue operation, and flagged off consignments of relief materials by helicopter.
As per his directions, helicopter operations from Matli Helipad began at 7 a.m. to evacuate stranded people from the disaster-hit areas. By noon, 128 people had been airlifted from Harshil to Matli Helipad.
The Chief Minister has once again set out to visit the Dharali area today to review the rescue operations. Efforts to deliver relief to the affected and search for missing persons are continuing at full scale. Various agencies are actively engaged in restoring basic facilities and communication networks, with mobile services already restored in Harshil and Bagori.
