CM Stalin Conducts Surprise Inspection at Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital in Chennai

Chennai, Aug 2025: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital in Guindy, Chennai, following his participation in a government function in Chengalpattu district earlier in the day.

Earlier, Mr. Stalin had inaugurated the newly constructed Tambaram–Mottur Government General Hospital building and distributed house site pattas to beneficiaries under welfare schemes. On his return journey to Chennai, he made an unscheduled stop at the Guindy hospital to inspect its facilities.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister visited various departments, including the outpatient, inpatient, and specialist treatment units. He examined the hospital’s central laboratory, which offers advanced blood, urine, and other medical tests in a single location.

Hospital Director Dr. Parthasarathy informed Mr. Stalin that, on the day of his visit, the facility had treated 121 outpatients, 326 inpatients, and conducted 2,390 diagnostic tests in the central lab. The Chief Minister also interacted with a patient undergoing treatment for a leg fracture, who expressed satisfaction with the care provided.

Mr. Stalin reviewed staff attendance registers, patient treatment records, and the hospital’s medicine stock register. He instructed officials to maintain the hospital premises in a clean and hygienic condition, ensure timely delivery of quality medical services to patients, and keep adequate stocks of essential medicines at all times.

The Chief Minister emphasized that patients should receive prompt and effective treatment without delays and that hospital administration should maintain a high standard of cleanliness and health safety.

The surprise inspection was attended by Minister for Public Works E.V. Velu, Minister for MSMEs T.M. Anbarasan, Member of Parliament T.R. Baalu, Principal Secretary for Health and Family Welfare Dr. P. Senthilkumar (IAS), and senior officials from the hospital administration.
