SARABJIT SINGH – Businessman & Marathoner:

A born Mumbaikar Sarabjit Singh was busy with his daily life, managing business, flocking with his friends. ‘Bombay Cutting Chai’, Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, remained integral to Paaji. By then the beloved Paaji had already turned to be a quinta essentia Quintal (100 Kilograms). An internal change was uprising, although he was in the best of his health void of any infatuation at precisely 102 kgs as he narrated.
It was Farhan Akhtar’s 2013 epic block buster movie “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” that had ignited the inner uprising, and Sarabjit Singh started walking in the early serene mornings of Mumbai. Sarabjit said, “but I’m grateful it began — even in that light-hearted way. Because every beginning teaches us something. Eventually, I had joined a runner’s group, and those lazy strolls slowly turned into committed runs”.

The true turning point arrived in 2017, as Sarabjit reiterated, “when I met my coach, Mr. Girish Bindra Sir! He didn’t just guide my running — he reshaped my mindset. He taught me that the human spirit has no limits. His one line in Punjabi has stayed with me: “Koi na, ho jaayega” — (Don’t worry, you will do it)”.
He owes his success largely to the immense blessings bestowed upon him, the relentless support of his loving family along with friends like Dr. Yash and many running buddies, those who have stood by him in this journey. Being a businessman, a family man, he continues to find time for his health which hasn’t been easy according to Sarabjit. But running brought balance, discipline, and a deep sense of purpose into his life.
With a glowing smile in his face, he stated, “Today, I’m proud to say I’m around 72 kg — healthier in body, and stronger in spirit. On 15th August, I’ll be attempting my first 12-hour run at the TATA Mumbai Ultra — not to prove anything, but to discover how far I can truly go. Over the years, I’ve run
many full and half marathons, improving each time. I’ve also tested myself with ultras, including TATA Ultra and Kaas Ultra”.
He has chosen Maverick News to convey his message to every reader stating:
“Whatever you choose to do, do it with sincerity.
Not to impress others — but to inspire someone who might be waiting to take their first step.
Because your journey might just be the reason someone else starts theirs”.
