Our Tricolor Is a Living Symbol of the Years of Struggles and Sacrifices of Our Ancestors: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

CM Joins Thousands of Youth in Freedom Run
Pays Tribute to Statues of Bharat Mata and Rani Durgavati

Raipur, Aug 2025 : “Our Tricolor is a living symbol of the years of struggles and sacrifices of our ancestors. We will always uphold the pride of the Tricolor, never forget our immortal martyrs, and together build a developed, prosperous, and strong Chhattisgarh,” said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai while addressing the Freedom Run organized at Marine Drive in the state capital, Raipur. On this occasion, the CM joined thousands of youth in the run and paid floral tributes to the statues of Bharat Mata and the martyred queen Rani Durgavati.

The CM said that the Tricolor embodies the aspirations of crores of Indians and is an eternal emblem of our valor, peace, and prosperity.

Saluting the sacred Tricolor, Shri Sai said that, following the call of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the entire nation has been awash in the colors of the Tricolor every Independence Day for the past several years. He noted that in recent days, the people have been celebrating this auspicious occasion with enthusiasm in various ways. The pledge to hoist the Tricolor in every home and the organization of Tiranga Yatras have connected this special day with every citizen. He emphasized that the Tiranga Yatra is not just an event but a living symbol of our unity, integrity, and national pride. Independence Day reminds us that freedom is the invaluable gift of countless sacrifices—millions of patriots laid down their lives for us to attain it.

The CM recalled his childhood memories of Independence Day, when Prabhat Pheris (early morning patriotic processions) were organized in schools, and villages resounded with patriotic songs. “The pride we felt then is the same pride we hold in our hearts today,” he said. The CM added that it is now our responsibility to take our state and country to new heights of development. A Developed Chhattisgarh Vision Document for 2047 has been prepared, and the government is working accordingly. This is not just the government’s mission but a shared commitment of all citizens. CM Sai also extended advance greetings for Independence Day to everyone present.

Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Shri Tankaram Verma, said that the Freedom Run is not just a race but a response to the struggles waged for independence. The country attained freedom through the sacrifices of its brave sons. Following the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed, clean, healthy, and great India, our Chief Minister also envisions a developed and prosperous Chhattisgarh. He urged everyone to pledge their invaluable contribution towards realizing this dream.

The event was attended by MLAs Shri Purandar Mishra, Shri Motilal Sahu, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Shri Anuj Sharma, Zila Panchayat President Shri Naveen Agrawal, and Secretary of the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Yashwant Kumar.
