Release of Lokrajya Special Issue by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis
Mumbai, Aug 2025 – A special issue of the Lokrajya magazine, published by the Department of Information and Public Relations, focusing on the 12 forts of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that have been included in UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Site nominations, was released today during a state cabinet meeting by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, along with cabinet ministers including Minister of Cultural Affairs Adv. Ashish Shelar, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Water Supply Minister Gulabrao Patil, Soil and Water Conservation Minister Sanjay Rathod, Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai, Food and Drug Administration Minister Hasan Mushrif, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnai, School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Agriculture Minister Dattatraya Bharane, as well as Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, and Principal Secretary and Director General of the Department of Information and Public Relations, Brijesh Singh, were present.
This issue provides detailed information on the historical, geographical, and strategic aspects of the twelve forts that stand as symbols of the valor of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj—Shivneri, Rajgad, Raigad, Pratapgad, Panhala, Lohgad, Salher, Khanderi, Suvarnadurg, Vijaydurg, Sindhudurg, and Gingee.
