Get 35% Grant for Setting Up Units under PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme
Under the Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, being implemented by the Central Government as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, entrepreneurs establishing new industries or expanding existing industrial units in the food processing sector are eligible to receive a grant of 35% of the eligible project cost or ₹10 lakh (whichever is less).
For assisting applicants in filing applications, District Resource Persons (DRPs) have been appointed in every district. They provide free assistance to applicants regarding applications and loan-related information.
The scheme covers units set up after June 2020 in the following sectors:
- Fruit & vegetable products
- Grain & pulse products
- Dairy products
- Oilseed products
- Animal feed
- Bakery products
- Other food products like sago, asafoetida (hing), etc.
Entrepreneurs can also avail of grants for expansion of existing units in these sectors.
Applications for grants under the scheme must be submitted online via the MOFPI PMFME Portal. The State Nodal Agency for the scheme is the Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board, Jaipur, while the district nodal agency for Jaipur is the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (Grains), Jaipur.

The scheme clarifies that the cost of land will not be included in the project cost, and technical civil works should not exceed 30% of the eligible project cost.
According to Amar Chand Saini, Secretary, Agricultural Produce Market Committee (Grains), Jaipur, the scheme has been operational since June 2020 and will continue until March 31, 2026. A target of providing grants for the establishment of 634 industrial units in Jaipur district has been set under the scheme.
