HPCL Rajasthan Refinery to Boost Nation’s Fuel Capacity: CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri Conduct Inspection
Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Hardeep Singh Puri on Sunday inspected the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd. (HRRL) at Pachpadra in Balotra district. They conducted a detailed review of the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) and Delayed Coking Unit (DCU) inside the refinery premises and interacted warmly with employees to learn about their work experience. Both leaders also inaugurated the Refinery Main Control Room (RMCR).

Subsequently, the Chief Minister and Union Minister launched the Operator Training Simulator at the RMCR campus. Shri Sharma initiated the pumping system through the CDU, VDU and DCU control panels and reviewed the operational processes.
Skill training to provide employment for local youth
During the RMCR project review meeting, HPCL officials presented an overview of the refinery’s current status, products, dispatch plans, key units and productivity. The Union Minister directed refinery officials to prepare a skill development action plan within the next 15 days, emphasizing that both the Centre and State governments are committed to providing employment to local youth through skill training in the refinery. He also discussed the commissioning of upcoming refinery units.
State government to extend full support for refinery operations
The Chief Minister instructed HPCL officials to explore new opportunities in solar energy generation and battery storage in the state, and to expedite the opening of the hospital being developed at Sambhara by the refinery. He also directed the preparation of a sales strategy for refinery products and stressed the need for extensive plantation across the refinery campus. Shri Sharma assured that the state government would extend all possible support for the early commissioning and full-capacity operation of major refinery units. Prior to the meeting, a plantation drive was also carried out.
Refinery progress accelerated through joint efforts of Centre and State
Expressing satisfaction over the refinery’s progress, the Chief Minister said that the joint efforts of the State and Central governments had brought remarkable momentum to the project over the past six months, and operations will commence soon. He added that the refinery will not only generate employment for local youth but also strengthen the state’s economy. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holistic development while ensuring environmental sustainability.
On the occasion, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Shri Joraram Kumawat, Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Shri K.K. Vishnoi, MP Rajendra Gehlot, MLAs Shri Hamir Singh Bhayal, Dr. Priyanka Choudhary, Shri Adooram Meghwal, Shri Arun Choudhary, former Union Minister of State Shri Kailash Choudhary, Chief Secretary Shri Sudhansh Pant, along with several senior officials and HPCL representatives were present.
