Ganesh Festival Celebrations at Maharashtra Sadan; Idol Consecration Tomorrow
Cultural Programs and Handicraft Exhibition by Self-Help Groups to Add Festive Charm
New Delhi, Aug 2025 :Ganeshotsav will be celebrated with great enthusiasm at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi this year. With the festival receiving the status of a State Festival, the celebrations have become even more vibrant. The consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of Lord Ganesha will be held tomorrow at 11:30 AM at Maharashtra Sadan on Copernicus Marg.
Adding to the festivities will be a handicraft exhibition by self-help groups, conceptualized by Resident Commissioner and Secretary R. Vimala. The exhibition will showcase the cultural richness and rural entrepreneurship of Maharashtra. R. Vimala has invited all devotees to visit and participate in the celebrations.
Ganesh Festival & Handicraft Exhibition
The handicraft exhibition will run from August 27 to September 6, 2025. Self-help groups from Nashik, Beed, and Palghar will present a wide variety of products including khadi, batik, bandhani, Warli paintings, leather goods, jewelry, and traditional food items. The live kitchen will feature delicacies like Konkani Ukadiche Modak and Batata Vada by Sujata Jadhav and Dhanshree as special attractions.
Other highlights include khadi products by Amritwala Mahila Group, Savitribai Phule Group, Viraj Khadi Initiative, Warli Art Collective, and artisans such as Ranjana Jadhav, Yasmeen Shaikh, and Jayprakash C. Hanwante.
According to R. Vimala, this exhibition will provide a national platform for local art and market access for rural entrepreneurs. It will transform Maharashtra Sadan into a cultural hub and serve as a milestone for economic growth. She appealed to everyone to participate in the festival.

A series of cultural performances will be held alongside the celebrations from August 27 to September 6, 2025:
- August 27 – Pran Pratishtha at 11:30 AM, followed by ‘Kalarang’ program by Dipali Kale at 7 PM
- August 28 – Hindi musical evening by Debu Mukherjee
- August 29 – ‘Santwani’ by Dr. Pt. Sanjay Garud
- August 30 – Satyanarayan Mahapuja, Mahaprasad, and local programs
- August 31 – Marathi-Hindi dance showcase
- September 1 – Magic, mimicry, and music shows
- September 2 – ‘Vibhavari’ film music program
- September 3 – Cultural evening
- September 4 – Devotional music ‘Bhaktirang’
- September 5 – Siddheshwar Zanj Pathak performance
- September 6 – Ganesh Visarjan procession
