CM Dhami Leads ‘Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Nation’ Campaign at Paltan Bazaar, Dehradun
Dehradun, Aug 2025 – Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today led the ‘Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Nation’ public awareness campaign held at Paltan Bazaar, Dehradun. Embracing the call of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, CM Dhami appealed to the people of Uttarakhand to adopt Swadeshi (indigenous) products.
During the campaign, the Chief Minister personally visited shops and establishments in Paltan Bazaar, putting up stickers promoting Swadeshi, and received overwhelming support from the public.
On this occasion, CM Dhami urged local traders, voluntary organizations, and citizens to increase the use of indigenous goods. He said this campaign is a strong effort to take Prime Minister Modi’s vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India) and ‘Vocal for Local’ to every household.
The Chief Minister stressed that giving preference to products made in India would strengthen the nation’s economy and generate local employment. He added that adopting Swadeshi is not just an economic decision, but a national duty. By following the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Adopt Swadeshi, Make the Nation Strong,” people can not only contribute to economic growth but also empower local producers, artisans, and small entrepreneurs.
Appealing to traders, CM Dhami said they should display Swadeshi nameplates at their shops to inspire trust and pride among consumers. He emphasized: “By using Swadeshi goods, not only will our money remain within the country, but India will also emerge stronger on the global stage.”
During the program, the Chief Minister toured shops at Paltan Bazaar and put up campaign stickers reading “Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Nation.” He also urged citizens to prioritize indigenous alternatives during festivals, in gifting, and for daily use. He said this initiative would not only be inspirational but also reinforce India’s cultural identity and strengthen the resolve of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
A large number of elected representatives, trade association officials, volunteers, and citizens participated in the campaign. Together, they pledged to adopt Swadeshi and contribute to building a self-reliant India, extending full support to the Chief Minister. Local youth, traders, and social organizations also took an active part, raising slogans of “Adopt Swadeshi, Save the Nation.”
On this occasion, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State President Shri Mahendra Bhatt, along with other public representatives, local traders, businessmen, and a large gathering of citizens were present.
