‘Shri Ganesha Arogyacha’ Initiative for Statewide Health Check-ups
Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Fund Cell Takes the Lead
Mumbai, Aug 2025 : In the auspicious atmosphere of Ganeshotsav, a significant initiative has been undertaken to ensure citizens’ health and well-being. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund and the Charitable Hospital Aid Cell have launched a special campaign, ‘Shri Ganesha Arogyacha’, organizing free health check-up camps across all 36 districts of Maharashtra.
This initiative brings together the Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund Cell, Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, government medical colleges, district hospitals, and specialist doctors associated with charitable hospitals. In addition, a large number of Ganesh Mandals have actively joined the campaign. Free health check-ups for devotees and local citizens are being conducted at or near pandals where these camps are set up.
Continuous Awareness on Citizens’ Health
Through these camps, citizens are being informed about various central and state government health schemes. Patients diagnosed with illnesses during the check-up are being provided with further treatment free of cost under the relevant schemes. Importantly, the purpose of the campaign goes beyond mere check-ups — it also aims to create continuous awareness about health among citizens.
At the district level, the dedicated cells are coordinating with Ganesh Mandals to conduct large-scale health camps. Registered hospitals under the Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana, local medical colleges, and charitable hospitals have actively participated, with their specialist doctors and teams contributing to the effort.
Widespread Public Awareness by Ganesh Mandals
Over the past week, Ganesh Mandals have been spreading information about the campaign through banners and pamphlets, ensuring wide public awareness. As a result, citizens and devotees in large numbers are availing the benefits of these health camps. The initiative facilitates early diagnosis and timely treatment of diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, heart ailments, and cancer.
Organizing health check-up camps during a major festival like Ganeshotsav is an innovative idea by Chief Minister Fadnavis. Thousands of citizens are getting the opportunity to undergo free health check-ups through ‘Shri Ganesha Arogyacha’. Those found with ailments during check-ups are also being provided with free follow-up treatment.
“This initiative is proving to be a fine example of citizen-centric and welfare-oriented healthcare service,” said Rameshwar Naik, Head of the Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund and Charitable Hospital Aid Cell.
