Parbhani, Aug 2025 : Government welfare schemes must effectively reach the common citizens to make their lives easier. Also, all departments should immediately resolve their pending works, said Minister of State and Guardian Minister of Parbhani District, Meghna Sakore-Bordikar, during a review meeting held at the District Collector’s office.

District Collector Sanjay Chavan, Superintendent of Police Ravindrasingh Pardeshi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Natisha Mathur, Municipal Commissioner Nitin Narvekar, Additional Collector Dr. Pratap Kale, Resident Deputy Collector Anuradha Dhalekar, and Additional Chief Executive Officer Rashmi Khandekar were present.

At the outset, the Guardian Minister reviewed the flood situation in the district along with crop and other damages. She directed that whenever water is released from reservoirs, timely alerts must be given to villages along riverbanks to prevent unfortunate incidents. The administrative machinery must remain vigilant and inform citizens about necessary precautionary measures, she instructed.

In addition, to maintain ecological balance, she emphasized the need for maximum tree plantation in the district. She directed schools to build protective walls and plant thorny karvanda (carissa) shrubs around them. Cleanliness campaigns should be undertaken in every city and village. The Agriculture Department should expand fruit orchard cultivation. The Public Works Department must ensure quality in road construction works. Under the 150-day program, all departments should participate, keep their offices clean, and complete public works more efficiently, she said.

The meeting also reviewed issues such as power supply problems faced by industrial consumers, progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission, action taken on pending applications from the Janata Darbar, the District Annual Plan, Public Works Department projects, water supply and sanitation works, municipal administration-related works, plantation drives, minor irrigation and water conservation activities, and the renovation and repair of percolation tanks.

Heads of concerned departments were present at the meeting.
