Two-Day School Sports Competition Begins in Ambikapur

432 Students Participate in Running, Jumping, and Throwing Events

Raipur, Aug 2025 : The two-day Divisional-Level School Sports Competition (Athletics) began today at the PG College Sports Ground in Ambikapur, inaugurated by Collector Mr. Vilas Bhoskar. While encouraging the participants, Collector Bhoskar said that school-level competitions are a strong platform to nurture young talent and help them shine at national and international levels in the future. He urged the players to participate with discipline, dedication, and continuous practice.

A total of 432 players, including boys and girls in the 14, 17, and 19-year age categories, from all districts of the division, are taking part in this competition.

During the two-day event, different athletic competitions are being held. The running category includes 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m races.
In the throwing events, competitions are being organized for shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, and hammer throw.
In the jumping category, there will be long jump, high jump, and triple jump events.

The competition began with the 400m race, in which athletes participated enthusiastically.
