Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Extends a Helping Hand
Special Assistance of ₹2.85 Crore Granted to 72 Patients Battling Serious Illnesses
Raipur, Aug 2025 : The serious illness of even one member in a family puts the entire household in crisis. When treatment costs run into lakhs, it becomes unbearable for ordinary citizens. At such times, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, operated by the government, provides great relief, under which free treatment up to ₹5 lakh is possible. However, when the expenses exceed this limit, patients and their families fall into deep worry.
In such a difficult situation, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai took a sensitive initiative and extended a helping hand. Under the Chief Minister’s Special Assistance Scheme, financial aid of ₹2 crore 85 lakh has been sanctioned for the treatment of 72 seriously ill patients from Jashpur district. This amount has been directly transferred to the concerned hospitals’ bank accounts through cheque or NEFT.
With this assistance, patients were able to undergo complex and expensive treatments such as cancer care, bone marrow transplants, and kidney transplants. Timely support not only safeguarded the lives of patients but also brought major relief to their families. Patients and their relatives have expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for this step.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. G. S. Jatra informed that to avail benefits under the Chief Minister’s Special Assistance Scheme, one has to fill out the prescribed application form and submit it along with the required documents. The application form can be obtained from the CMHO office. Along with this, the patient’s Aadhaar card, medical documents related to the illness, and the estimate report issued by the hospital where treatment is to be carried out must also be submitted.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is making special efforts to expand and improve health facilities in the tribal-dominated Jashpur district. Recently, the announcement of opening a medical college in the district has been made, for which the budget has already been sanctioned. Land selection has been completed and the process of establishing the college is progressing rapidly. In addition, steps are also being taken to increase the availability of physical infrastructure and specialist doctors in hospitals. These efforts will ensure better and more accessible healthcare services for the residents of the district.
