Rajasthan Gears Up to Host Khelo India University Games, CM Sharma Reviews Preparations

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that Rajasthan is going to host the Khelo India University Games for the first time. This sporting event will provide the state’s sports talents an opportunity to gain recognition at the national level, while also giving Rajasthan a new identity in the field of sports. Therefore, it must be ensured that these games are organized in a grand and successful manner so that they set an example across the country.

Shri Sharma was reviewing the preparations for the Khelo India University Games at the Chief Minister’s Office on Thursday. He instructed that efforts should be made to organize games at divisional headquarters in the state and to ensure maximum public participation, especially of the youth.

Pre-events to be organized before the main games—

The Chief Minister said that innovative measures should be adopted to encourage public interest in this sporting event. For this, pre-event activities such as marathons and competitions in schools and colleges should be organized so that a strong message of sports awareness spreads across the state. He further directed that associated activities of the Khelo India University Games should be linked with Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also instructed officials to make complete arrangements for accommodation of players and guests, seating arrangements for spectators, and availability of essential sports resources. He further directed that proper cleanliness, beautification, and all necessary basic facilities at the venues must be ensured.

On this occasion, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore, along with senior officials of the concerned departments, were present.
