In his address, the Chief Minister said that the Mostamanu fair is a symbol of faith, belief, and rich traditions. It is not merely a religious or traditional event but an integral part of our social and cultural life, also reflecting the unique aspects of rural life connected to agriculture and animal husbandry. Such festivals help preserve our heritage and pass it on to future generations.

He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, significant efforts are being made for the preservation and promotion of our religious and cultural heritage. Pithoragarh has also been connected to Haldwani, Dehradun, and Delhi by air services. An MoU has been signed between the Airport Authority and the State Government to modernize Pithoragarh Airport with an investment of ₹450 crore, and work will begin soon.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has urged all Indians to use indigenous products to strengthen the resolve of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). He expressed happiness that several stalls in this fair showcase indigenous products made by local artisans, craftsmen, farmers, and women’s groups. He appealed to the people of the state to adopt the mantra “Embrace Swadeshi, Strengthen the Nation” and use more local products.
