Young Team Embarks on Himalayan Mountaineering Expedition Led by Swpnil Rachelwar and Rahul Ogra

Raipur : A special team of young mountaineers has set out on a Himalayan expedition. The team includes aspiring climbers from Jashpur: Ravi Singh, Tejal Bhagat, Roosnath Bhagat, Sachin Kujur, and Prateek Nayak.

An important aspect of this expedition is its deep connection with tribal culture and roots. Jashpur is known for its rich tribal traditions, nature-based lifestyle, and strong sense of community. The ascent of these youth to the Himalayan heights is not only a sporting achievement but also a symbol of how the tribal community is proudly showcasing its cultural strength and deep bond with nature to the world. The team members are carrying their heritage and courage as they move towards the Himalayas. The expedition is being led by experienced mountaineers Swpnil Rachelwar and Rahul Ogra.

This initiative is being carried out under the guidance and blessings of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. The team departed from Jashpur to Ranchi, from where they will travel by train to Delhi. From Delhi, they will proceed to Jagatsukh, where the mountaineering preparations will be completed. On September 5, the team will set out for the Base Camp.

Senior officials of the Jashpur district administration and the Forest Department were present to bid farewell to the team. The Jashpur Collector, DFO, and District Panchayat CEO conveyed their best wishes and prayed for the safe and successful completion of the expedition. The Collector said that the young talents of Jashpur will make a valuable contribution in bringing recognition to the district and the state at the international level through this expedition. He also described it as a historic step in promoting sports and adventure activities in the district. The District Panchayat CEO, himself an experienced mountaineer, shared vital knowledge on mountaineering and trekking with the youth. He emphasized safety measures, health management at high altitudes, and the importance of team spirit, motivating and encouraging the participants.

The people of the state are excited and proud of this expedition. Local enterprise Jai Jungle Company, one of the sponsors of this expedition, expressed their support. Its founder, Samarth Jain, said this team is an inspiration for the entire state and will encourage future generations to take up mountaineering and adventure sports. Everywhere, people are talking about the courage and determination of these young climbers and are hopeful they will return from the Himalayas with new stories of success and glory.

The expedition, led by Swpnil Rachelwar and Rahul Ogra, also carries another important message—environmental conservation and awareness against substance abuse. This initiative will not only connect the youth with nature but also inspire them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The Himalayan expedition aims to spread the message that through adventure sports and mountaineering, society can be guided towards a new direction. It is also expected to enhance environmental awareness not only in Jashpur but across the state.
