CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Sets an Example of Public Service in Times of Disaster

Sept 2025 : In a remarkable display of public service during a time of crisis, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster-affected areas of Laksar in Haridwar amid heavy rainfall. Braving difficult conditions, he traveled by tractor to reach submerged villages and rural areas, where he conducted on-ground inspections and interacted directly with affected families to understand their problems.

During his visit, the Chief Minister instructed district administration and disaster management officials present at the site to speed up relief and rehabilitation efforts. He emphasized that the safety, shelter, food, and health facilities for affected people must be ensured, and warned that negligence in relief work would not be tolerated.

“The state government stands firmly with every affected citizen in this time of crisis. We will provide all possible assistance, and rescue operations will remain the top priority. Every disaster-hit family will receive maximum possible support from the government,” he said.

While inspecting the situation in Haridwar’s Laksar region, CM Dhami assessed the waterlogged villages, damaged roads, broken bridges, and homes surrounded by floodwater. He personally spoke with disaster-affected families, gathered details about their needs, and assured them that there would be no shortcomings in relief measures.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure proper arrangements in relief camps, including sufficient food, clean drinking water, medicines, and sanitation. Families needing relocation must be moved to safe locations without delay. He also ordered quick assessment of crop losses so that the compensation process can begin soon, and stressed on setting up health camps wherever necessary to provide medical care.

CM Dhami’s visit has sent a positive message among the local people, who praised the government’s promptness and sensitivity in dealing with the crisis.

On this occasion, MLA Shri Pradeep Batra, District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police of Haridwar, other district officials, and local residents were present.
