Speed up Beed–Parli railway work and complete the route – Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar

Beed to Ahilyanagar railway service to begin

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : Beed city, which has long remained far from any railway connectivity, will soon find its place on India’s railway map. On Marathwada Liberation Day, train services will begin between Beed and Ahilyanagar, fulfilling a decades-old dream of Beed’s residents. The decision to inaugurate the Beed–Ahilyanagar train service on September 17 was taken in a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at Sahyadri Guest House.

During the meeting, Deputy CM Pawar also instructed officials to remove bottlenecks and expedite the completion of the remaining Beed–Parli Vaijnath railway stretch.

The meeting was attended by Sanjeev Kumar (General Manager, Mahapareshan), PWD Secretary Mr. Dashpute, Secretary (Financial Reforms) Shaila A, Deputy CM’s Secretary Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, Joint Secretary (Transport) Rajendra Holkar, Railway Chief Electrical Engineer Vineet Kumar, Pune Division Additional Divisional Manager Padamsingh Jadhav, Chief Passenger Traffic Manager Milind Hirve, Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Neela, Chief Engineer Prashant Bhegde and others. Through video conferencing, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Divisional Commissioner Jitendra Papalkar, Beed District Collector Vivek Johnson, and Superintendent of Police Navneet Kowat also participated.

Deputy CM Pawar directed the Beed district administration to urgently resolve pending land acquisition cases and provide the required land for the Beed–Parli Vaijnath line. He said the state government’s share of funds must be released immediately. Out of the approved budget of ₹300 crore, ₹150 crore should be disbursed now, and provision for the remaining ₹150 crore should be made soon. He also emphasized that the Railways must issue utilization certificates for the funds already provided.

Pawar further instructed that pending work on the Phaltan–Lonand line should be completed quickly. Senior Railway officials were asked to visit the Baramati railway station project and speed up the work so that a modern, well-equipped station could be made available to passengers at the earliest.
