Guardian Minister Urges Citizens to Heed Flood Safety Instructions

Sangli : With the potential increase in water release from the Koyna Dam, the water level in the Krishna River is expected to rise. The administration is on high alert to manage the potential flood situation. Citizens should strictly adhere to the instructions provided by the government and administration according to the flood situation. Labor Minister and Guardian Minister Dr. Suresh Khade assured that the government and administration stand firmly behind the citizens and emphasized there is no need to panic.

Dr. Suresh Khade inspected the flood situation at Irwin Bridge in Sangli and Krishnaghat in Miraj today. He was accompanied by Collector Dr. Raja Dayanidhi, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Ghuge, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Tripti Dhodmise, Municipal Corporation Additional Commissioner Ravikant Adsul, Irrigation Department Superintending Engineer Chandrasekhar Patole, Executive Engineer Jyoti Deokar, Miraj Tehsildar Dr. Aparna More-Dhumal, and Sangli Upper Tehsildar Ashwini Varute, among others.

Guardian Minister Dr. Khade stated that necessary provisions, including shelter centers, food, health facilities, animal fodder, and water, will be provided to flood-affected citizens. He urged citizens not to worry and to collectively face the upcoming challenges. He also mentioned that efforts would be made to increase water discharge in Almaty. Dr. Khade appealed to citizens to avoid entering floodwaters and to take care of themselves and their families.

During the inspection, Miraj residents raised concerns about road conditions and other issues related to accessing their fields. The Guardian Minister promised to address and resolve their problems.
