Nirbhay Dada’s Name Will Forever Be Remembered for Integrity in Public Life: CM Dr. Yadav
Bhopal Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that former minister Late Shri Nirbhay Singh Patel is remembered for his honesty and integrity in public life, values that will keep his name immortal. Even today, Late Shri Patel’s name is remembered with deep respect.
CM Dr. Yadav was addressing the district-level inter-school and inter-college debate competition organized in Indore on Thursday by the Nirbhay Singh Patel Memorial Vichar Manch on the occasion of the 29th death anniversary of the former Forest Minister. Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar also attended the event.
CM Dr. Yadav stated that debate competitions bring forth eloquent speakers from the younger generation. In ancient Indian culture, ‘Shastrarth’ (scriptural debates) were a common tradition, which has now taken the form of modern debate competitions. CM Dr. Yadav said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is progressing rapidly, with significant budgetary increases in the railways, sports, agriculture, and defense sectors. He also felicitated the winners of the debate competition.
Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar stated that Late Shri Patel will always be remembered for his honesty and dedication. With his work and personality, he carved a distinct identity in Indore’s politics. Shri Tomar said that Shri Patel possessed a unique ability to turn adversity into opportunity. He suggested that while this year’s debate topics focused on agriculture, railways, and sports, defense should also be included from next year onward.
Member of Parliament Shri Shankar Lalwani said that the true tribute to Late Shri Patel would be to uphold honesty in public life, just as he did. MLA Manoj Patel remarked that this annual event in memory of his father, ‘Dada’ Shri Nirbhay Singh Patel, has been inspiring to think about the nation and contribute in new directions.
The event began with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar lighting a ceremonial lamp and offering floral tributes to the portrait of Late Shri Nirbhay Singh Patel. The event was conducted by Nagar President Shri Sumit Mishra, while Shri Jitu Jirati proposed the vote of thanks. Debate winners Shri Jai Mishra (college category) and Shri Sanghamitra Bhargava (school category), delivered their speeches, which were widely appreciated.
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargav, former minister Sushri Usha Thakur, MLAs Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Manoj Patel, Smt. Malini Gaur, Shri Golu Shukla, Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Sudarshan Gupta and other public representatives were present.
Cash Prizes Worth ₹2.30 Lakh Distributed to Winners
In the competition, prizes worth ₹2.30 lakh were distributed. Sanghamitra Bhargava of Daly College secured first place with her outstanding arguments, while Atharva Rathore of South Valley School won second place. In debates held on themes related to agriculture, railways, and sports, the first-place winners were awarded ₹10,000 each, while the second-place winners received ₹5,100 each. In the college category, Jai Mishra secured the first prize.
A total of 60 participants took part in the competition, out of which 22 were awarded, 16 from the school level and 6 from the college level. Three participants also received special prizes of ₹11,000 each for preparing the best manifestos.
On this occasion, organisation chairpersons Shri Ravi Patel and Shri Niral Patel welcomed the chief guests and informed them that the committee’s objective is to inspire the younger generation towards thoughtful, logical, and constructive dialogue.
