64th Teachers’ Day Celebrated in Champhai

Champhai, Sept, 2025: The 64th Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across various educational institutions in Champhai District.

At Govt. GM Higher Secondary School, Govt. R. Hranga High School, Govt. Vengthlang Middle School, and BC Lalthlamuana English Academy, students honored their teachers through special programs. On the occasion, speakers highlighted the significance of Teachers’ Day, extending greetings to all teachers in the district. They emphasized that students should always respect their teachers, carefully listen to their guidance, and follow their teachings with dedication.

Students were urged to recognize teachers as mentors who shape their lives, to value their contributions, and to strive for excellence under their guidance. It was noted that during their student life, children have the responsibility to bring pride to their communities and to become role models by doing good for others. Teachers, in turn, were reminded of their duty to act as mentors and guiding lights for their students.

As part of the celebrations, the life and contributions of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, India’s second President, were read aloud, along with a special Teachers’ Day message from the Education Minister for students. Across Champhai town, banners honoring teachers and standees of award-winning teachers were displayed at three key locations.

So far, Champhai District has proudly produced four National Award-winning teachers, seven State Award winners, and one Prof. Sharma Award recipient.

In continuation of the Teachers’ Day events, the District Level Working Committee for the Celebration of Teachers’ Day 2025 has announced that an interactive session between students selected from eight schools and All India Services Officers posted in Champhai District will be held on September 12, 2025, at Kahrawt Hall.
