Heavy to Very Heavy Rain Expected Today in Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Satara Districts
Mumbai : According to a notification from the Indian Meteorological Department dated July 25, 2024, a red alert has been issued for the districts of Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Pune, and Satara due to the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rain. Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Satara districts are also on red alert for July 26, 2024, with expectations of severe rainfall, as reported by the state disaster control room.
District administrations in areas anticipating heavy to very heavy rains have been instructed to remain vigilant. Residents of these districts have been alerted via a notification app on their mobile phones. Citizens are advised to venture out only if absolutely necessary. It is important to avoid crossing bridges if water is flowing over them, and to stay away from waterfalls, dam areas, and hilly regions.
During lightning, avoid taking shelter under trees, and do not seek refuge in old or dilapidated buildings during heavy rains. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with the administration and follow instructions without panicking. The state government has issued necessary directives to all departments, regional agencies, and disaster response forces.
