HL Agro Invests ₹500 Crore in Expansion of Kanpur Dehat Unit

Lucknow : The Yogi government’s reforms in policy, aimed at expanding existing investments and attracting new ones to the region, are making an impact. HL Agro Products Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in the production, marketing, and supply of plant-based raw materials for the global food and beverage industries, has announced a planned investment of ₹499.99 crore in expanding its unit in Kanpur Dehat. This investment will support the growth of its maize starch and liquid glucose unit in Uttar Pradesh.

In line with Uttar Pradesh’s ambitious Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022, HL Agro plans to expand its existing plant, which benefits from robust infrastructure, connectivity, raw material availability, and utilities.

Appreciation for Visionary Policies of the Yogi Government

HL Agro Spokesperson and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Atul Rastogi praised the state’s visionary policies for fostering a strong business ecosystem. He commended Invest UP for its streamlined processes, which facilitated a smooth transition from initial filing to the commercial operation of the unit, and highlighted the capital subsidies and other incentives provided to boost trade and industry in the state. Rastogi noted that the UP government’s proactive and supportive attitude made the experience feel like a partnership rather than a conventional government interaction.

Contributing to Uttar Pradesh’s Trillion-Dollar Economy

HL Group of Companies, headquartered in Kanpur, oversees HL Agro’s operations, which include domestic sales and exports of starch, liquid glucose, and their derivatives. The company currently operates a maize milling unit in Rania, Kanpur Dehat, with a capacity of about 300 tonnes per day (TPD), which it plans to increase to 1,200 TPD. Rastogi emphasized that this expansion will not only boost production capacity but also contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth, create employment opportunities, and help move the state towards becoming a trillion-dollar economy. Post-expansion, the company will also produce dextrose monohydrate, maltodextrin powder, dextrose anhydrous, and sorbitol.
