New Delhi, Sept 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has warmly welcomed the recent remarks of US President Donald Trump, describing them as a reaffirmation of the “special relationship” between India and the United States.
At a press conference at the White House on Friday night, President Trump praised the strong strategic partnership between the two countries, referring to Modi as a “great Prime Minister” and a “good friend.” He emphasized that there was “nothing to worry about” in bilateral ties and reiterated his personal friendship with Modi.
“I wholeheartedly appreciate and fully support President Trump’s emotional and positive assessment. India and the US share an extremely positive, forward-looking, comprehensive, and global strategic partnership,” Modi said in a post on his official X handle, tagging Trump.
Trump also clarified that his recent Truth Social post about “losing” India was not meant negatively. Instead, he underlined that his ties with Modi remain strong and constructive. He highlighted Modi’s recent visits to Washington and their meeting at the Rose Garden, noting these as examples of the enduring bond between the two leaders.
