Training on Agroforestry and Livelihood Promotion Provided to 90 Farmers under RFBDBP
Jaipur, Sept 2025 : Under the Rajasthan Forestry and Biodiversity Development Project (RFBDBP), a capacity-building and training program on agroforestry and livelihood promotion was organized on Tuesday at the Pipaleshwar Green Fed Farmer Producer Company, Tunga, Bassi, Jaipur. Around 90 farmers from the project area actively participated in the program.
On this occasion, Ketan Kumar, DFO, Jaipur Divisional Management Unit (DMU), said that the primary objective of the RFBDBP is to provide new livelihood opportunities to farmers through agroforestry while ensuring forest conservation. Agroforestry, he noted, will not only help increase farmers’ income but also enhance their ability to deal with the impacts of climate change. Additionally, it will promote large-scale tree plantation and afforestation, thereby contributing to maintaining ecological balance.
During the training, Hemant Kumar Dixit, Livelihood Specialist, PMC, RFBDBP, explained the objectives of the project and highlighted how farmers can develop additional income sources by adopting agroforestry. Agriculture Officer Om Prakash Gupta gave detailed insights into plantation techniques, maintenance, and aspects of plant growth. Namo Narayan Meena, Ranger, Bassi Range, shed light on the various activities of RFBDBP and the significance of agroforestry.
In addition, Kamlesh Saini, CEO, and Kailash Chand Sharma, President of the FPO, informed the farmers about the role of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). They explained how FPOs support farmers in collective action, marketing, processing, and adopting organic farming practices.
