People’s Participation Must Be Increased for Village Development under the Chief Minister’s Prosperous Panchayati Raj Campaign – Union Minister of State Raksha Khadse

Buldhana, Sept 2025 : Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Khadse, emphasized that people’s participation must be strengthened for the development of villages under the Chief Minister’s Prosperous Panchayati Raj Campaign, launched for the effective and speedy implementation of government schemes.

The taluka-level workshop was organized at the Agriculture Produce Market Committee, Malkapur, under the aegis of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, with the Union Minister as the chief guest. Guardian Minister Sanjay Savkare, Labour Minister Adv. Akash Fundkar, MLA Chainasukh Sancheti, Chief Executive Officer Gulab Kharat, Sub-Divisional Officer, Tehsildar, officials, sarpanchs, gram sevaks, ASHA workers, and a large number of citizens attended the program.

Union Minister Raksha Khadse said, “If we want to make the country prosperous, it must begin with our gram panchayats. People’s participation is essential in this campaign, without which village development is not possible.” She noted that under this campaign, the state government has announced awards ranging from ₹15 lakh to ₹5 crore, which will enable holistic development of gram panchayats and provide quality facilities to citizens. She appealed to sarpanchs, gram sevaks, ASHA workers, health workers, and administrative officers to make dedicated efforts to implement this campaign and ensure that the benefits reach citizens.

Labour Minister Adv. Akash Fundkar said that villagers, sarpanchs, and gram sevaks should make maximum use of this opportunity. Through this campaign, villages should be made greener, cleaner, and more people-centric. The concept of this campaign stretches “from Gram Panchayat to Parliament,” he said, urging collective participation for successful implementation.

Guardian Minister Sanjay Savkare noted that this campaign is being implemented in Maharashtra on the lines of the central government’s model. He pointed out that many schemes from Maharashtra have been adopted at the national level. Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s call of “Go to the villages,” he said today’s youth are migrating to cities because of better facilities there. If these amenities are made available at the village level, urban migration can be reduced. He emphasized that this campaign is designed to provide all such facilities in villages, stressing the importance of people’s participation and urging gram sevaks and sarpanchs to work sincerely for the welfare of the people.

MLA Chainasukh Sancheti also addressed the gathering and appealed to ensure the success of the campaign.

Chief Executive Officer Gulab Kharat stated that public participation is crucial, and the tasks under this campaign must be completed in a time-bound manner. He highlighted the need to engage women, men, and youth from villages to turn the campaign into a mass movement, calling it an opportunity to make villages prosperous.

The workshop began with introductory remarks by Group Development Officer B.B. Hiwale, who shared details about the campaign. Pravin Chavan from YASHADA presented the campaign’s framework through a detailed presentation.
