After terrible flood, Mann government launched campaign to bring Punjab back on track
Chandigarh, Sept 2025 : To bring Punjab back on track again, Aam Aadmi Party’s Mann government has launched a big campaign. Flood water has receded from many areas, but in villages still silt, dirt, and debris are spread. For normalizing public life and prevention from diseases, government has made a wide plan from cleaning to health and farmers’ help.
Mann government has said that in more than 2300 villages and wards a big cleaning campaign will run. In every village JCB, tractor–trolley and teams of laborers are being sent. These teams will remove debris and silt, destroy dead animals, and after this in every village fogging will be done so that no disease spreads. For this work ₹100 crore fund has been kept. Every village has been given immediately ₹1 lakh and if needed extra money also will be given. Government’s target is that by 24 September debris from villages should be removed, by 15 October repair of social places should be completed, and by 22 October cleaning of ponds should be done.
Health services also are being given priority. In 2303 flood-affected villages medical camps will be set up. In those 596 villages where already Aam Aadmi Clinics are, there these camps will run. In remaining 1707 villages in school, dharamshala, anganwadi or panchayat building camps will be set up. In every camp doctor, medical staff and medicines will be present. Apart from this 550 ambulances also are being deployed, so that people can get immediate treatment.
To save livestock also government has taken charge. According to report, in 713 villages about 2.5 lakh animals have been affected. For this veterinary doctors’ teams have reached villages. Rotten fodder is being removed, farmers are being given potassium permanganate, and by 30 September vaccination of all affected animals will be completed.
Farmers’ biggest concern is selling of crop. Mann government has this time decided to start procurement early. From 16 September in mandis procurement will start. Those mandis which have been damaged by flood, there fast cleaning and repair is being done, so that by 19 September all mandis get ready to buy farmers’ crops.
Mann government has said that this is not only relief work, but a resolve to stand Punjab again. Government also has appealed to people that NGOs, youth clubs and social organizations should lend hand in this work. Punjab has in every crisis fought together, this time no matter how big crisis is, when government stands with its people—then every Punjabi from heart says, “This Mann government stands with us.”
