Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying of Development Works worth ₹335 Crore at Yavatmal
Yavatmal, Sept 2025 : To bring the tribal community into the mainstream of development, the central government has launched major schemes and allocated a fund of ₹1 lakh crore for this purpose. In Maharashtra as well, various schemes are being implemented for housing, roads, electricity, water, hostels, and employment for tribals. Within the next three years, there will be a radical transformation in the lives of tribals, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.
The Chief Minister was speaking at Yavatmal after inaugurating, laying the foundation stones, and launching development initiatives worth ₹335 crore. Soil and Water Conservation Minister and Guardian Minister of the district Sanjay Rathod, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Tribal Development Minister Ashok Uike, MP Sanjay Deshmukh, MLAs Raju Todsam and Kisanrao Wankhede, Saitai Dahake, Sanjay Derkar, Shyam Kode, Tribal Development Department Secretary Vijay Waghmare, Divisional Commissioner Shweta Singhal, District Collector Vikas Meena, and other dignitaries were present.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that facilities such as houses for 54,000 families, piped drinking water, hospitals, and hostels for tribals are being completed at a rapid pace. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for tribal development are unprecedented in scale. Under the Adi Karmayogi Yojana, 366 villages in Yavatmal district have been selected. Across Maharashtra, 30 lakh youth will be trained through the scheme, which will help in nurturing local leadership.
He further stated that the government has undertaken a time-bound program to clear pending applications for compassionate appointments, and 15,000 youth will soon be appointed through this system. Around 35 MW of solar energy projects are already functional, providing 12 hours of daytime electricity for farming. Plans are also underway to provide 10 hours of free electricity to farmers during the day. He assured that there will be no shortage of funds for essential facilities in Yavatmal district. Farmers whose crops, houses, and livestock were damaged by rains will receive compensation soon, he added.
Inauguration of Development Works
Chief Minister Fadnavis inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects worth ₹335 crore. This included works worth ₹51 crore under the Tribal Development Department, including five hostels; construction projects worth ₹67 crore; ₹158 crore for 11 solar power projects under the Chief Minister’s Solar Transmission Scheme and other works; and projects worth ₹59 crore under various other departments.
The CM also launched several innovative initiatives of the district administration, including the Mission Competitive Excellence Road Maintenance Digital Platform, E-Mitra Chatbot, Mission Ubhari, Integrated Dashboard, Project Sand Map, and CRF & WARUP Dashboard mobile applications. Through the E-Mitra Chatbot, citizens will be able to access information about 34 government schemes with just two clicks.
The Ubhari app has already conducted an online survey of 770 families affected by farmer suicides in the last five years. It will help provide these families the benefits of various welfare schemes. The District Dashboard will facilitate real-time monitoring and quick implementation of schemes for citizens.
Focus on Tribal Development
Under the Dharati Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, 25 schemes across 17 departments are being implemented for the holistic development of Scheduled Tribes. Along with this, the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan is building decentralized tribal leadership and model administration. A total of 366 villages in the district are covered under it, benefiting tribal communities directly.
Meanwhile, the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi and Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi schemes are being effectively implemented in Yavatmal district, benefitting 2.94 lakh farmers.
In the district, 27 candidates have been given compassionate appointments, and four of them were handed appointment certificates personally by the Chief Minister. Various departments also set up information stalls at the venue. The event witnessed a large turnout of people.
