Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Swachh Utsav 2025 Program

Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Swachh Utsav 2025 program on Wednesday. On this occasion, he extended heartfelt birthday greetings to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and wished him good health and a long life. The Chief Minister also conveyed greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti.

Under the cleanliness campaign, the Chief Minister swept the premises to spread the message of cleanliness and appealed to all residents of the state to join the cleanliness movement. He announced that from September 17 to October 2, regular programs related to Seva aur Swachhta would be organized across the state. On this occasion, he also paid floral tribute to the statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. During the event, he administered the oath of cleanliness and participated in a tree plantation drive.

The Chief Minister also flagged off the Swachhta Rath (Cleanliness Chariot) and honored environmental workers (Paryavaran Mitras). He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the cleanliness movement has provided new dimensions to the nation. Swachh Utsav 2025 is another step in this direction—a pledge, a movement, and a promise of a healthy and clean future for the coming generations. He added that realizing the dream of “Clean India, Healthy India” is the responsibility of all.

The Chief Minister further informed that recently, in the Swachh Vayu Survey announced under the National Clean Air Program, Dehradun Municipal Corporation secured the 19th position in the country. In the cleanliness rankings too, Dehradun Municipal Corporation secured the 62nd rank this year, which is an improvement compared to previous years. Till now, more than six lakh toilets have been constructed for families in the state that previously did not have them. The Dehradun Municipal Corporation has also set up a Swachhta Control Room for quick resolution of sanitation-related issues. With improved garbage collection, CCTV monitoring, and regular cleaning arrangements, the city is moving in a better direction.

Chief Minister Dhami said that cleanliness is not merely a government campaign but also an integral part of our culture and lifestyle. He urged all citizens to take responsibility for keeping their homes, neighborhoods, villages, and cities clean. Stressing on environmental conservation, he highlighted the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign, stating that plantation is a means to improve the quality of life and ensure a clean environment for future generations.

On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Shri Satpal Maharaj, Shri Ganesh Joshi, Shri Subodh Uniyal, MP Smt. Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, Dehradun Mayor Shri Saurabh Thapliyal, MLAs Smt. Savita Kapoor and Shri Suresh Gadia, Secretary Shri Nitesh Jha, Municipal Commissioner Smt. Namami Bansal, along with other public representatives and officials were present.
