First Meeting of State-Level DISHA Committee Held Under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami
Dehradun, Sept 2025 – The first meeting of the State-Level DISHA Committee was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami. On the occasion, the Chief Minister conducted an in-depth review of the progress of various ambitious schemes of the State and Central Governments.
The meeting included detailed discussions on schemes related to agriculture, rural development, urban development, health, education, women and child development, employment, social security, digital technology, environment, and sports. The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the implementation of these schemes so that maximum people may benefit at the earliest. He emphasised that transparency, accountability, and coordination among departments are essential for effective execution.
Highlighting the government’s resolve to place Uttarakhand among the leading states of the country, the Chief Minister stressed that consistent and concrete action is vital, and any laxity will not be tolerated. He also directed that in today’s digital era, maximum use of modern digital technology must be ensured for monitoring and successful execution of schemes. Quick access to information and accountability, he said, would significantly improve implementation speed.
He noted that coordinated efforts by all departments are necessary to deliver tangible benefits of schemes to farmers, the poor, women, and youth. During discussions on agriculture and energy, he instructed officials to expedite the installation of solar-powered pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme. This, he said, will not only facilitate irrigation for farmers but also promote long-term energy self-reliance and contribute to environmental protection.
The Chief Minister also directed that remaining villages be quickly connected with roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, describing road connectivity as the foundation of development, especially for providing facilities and economic opportunities in remote areas.
The progress of health, education, and employment generation initiatives was also thoroughly reviewed. He reiterated that expanding quality healthcare and education remains among the government’s top priorities. Skill development, self-employment, and entrepreneurship schemes for youth and women should be implemented more effectively to bring meaningful improvement in citizens’ lives, he added.
The Chief Minister underlined that public representatives and local communities must actively participate in ensuring the success of these schemes. Officials were asked to maintain regular dialogue with public representatives and share progress to maximise public benefit. “The government’s first priority is the welfare and convenience of people, and all departments must work with complete responsibility and commitment to achieve this goal,” he said.
