State government launches campaign to enhance skills among Council school children

Lucknow : The Yogi government observed ‘Community Participation Day’ on the seventh of the ‘Shiksha Saptah’ celebrations held across Uttar Pradesh. The event aimed to encourage the spirit of community participation among students of Council schools.

During the event, experts from diverse fields shared their knowledge, skills, and experiences with the children. They also emphasized the importance of education through the organization of ‘Shiksha Chaupal’.

The names of active volunteers who contributed to the education of council children were honoured on the ‘wall of respect’ or the school notice board.

Additionally, rallies were held to raise awareness, and street plays organized to instil the spirit of community participation among the children.

On the directive of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department celebrated ‘Shiksha Saptah’ from July 22 to 28/29 in council primary, upper primary, and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools.

The success of this event was made possible by the active participation of the community, with ‘Community Participation Day’ highlighted on July 28/29.

Key highlights included:

  • Experts from various institutions shared their knowledge and skills with students according to their interests.
  • Shiksha Chaupal sessions were held at community, school, or local institutions.
  • Active volunteers were honored on the school’s ‘wall of respect’ or notice board.
  • Principals, teachers, and students wrote letters of thanks to volunteers.
  • Rallies or street plays were organized.
  • The ‘Volunteers Bano Abhiyan’ was launched in schools and communities with the support of the SMC.
