Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Directs Evacuation of Citizens Stranded in Flood-Hit Sakat, Dharashiv District.

Mumbai, Sept 2025 – Due to heavy rains, a flood situation has arisen in Sakat village of Paranda taluka, Dharashiv district. Water has entered the village, cutting off its connectivity, and leaving 12 citizens stranded. Against this backdrop, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar this morning spoke with Dharashiv District Collector Kirti Kiran Pujar over phone and instructed that the stranded citizens be evacuated and shifted to a safe location.

The Deputy CM also directed that an NDRF team be deployed to rescue the citizens of Sakat and that helicopter assistance be arranged if necessary.

State Government Standing Firmly with Citizens in Crisis

The state government is closely monitoring the situation arising from heavy rainfall in several districts. Deputy CM Pawar instructed district administrations, disaster management authorities, and local self-governance bodies to remain alert. Citizens in flood-prone or vulnerable areas should be shifted to safer locations, while NDRF and SDRF teams must remain on standby for rescue and relief operations.

He assured that in this time of crisis, the Maharashtra government stands firmly with farmers and all affected citizens. Necessary aid and full support will be extended to those who have suffered losses due to the floods, he emphasized.
