Honoring Divyangs and Senior Citizens under Seva Pakhwada in the Presence of Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade

Raipur, Sept : 2025 : As part of the Seva Pakhwada program, a health check-up, felicitation, and distribution camp for divyangs (persons with disabilities) and senior citizens was organized in Surajpur district. The event was attended by Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade as the Chief Guest.

Extending her greetings on the occasion of Navratri, Minister Rajwade said that Seva Pakhwada is a symbol of social welfare and the spirit of public service. She highlighted that during this fortnight, several activities related to health, cleanliness, and welfare schemes are being carried out, directly benefitting the common people.

Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that divyangs deserve equal rights and respect in society. Referring to schemes such as the Divyang Marriage Assistance Scheme, self-employment, and livelihood-based programs, she said the state government is committed to making divyangs self-reliant. She called upon them to improve their lives through education and skill development, assuring that the government stands with them at every step.

Minister Rajwade further noted that Seva Pakhwada, being observed on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, is a nationwide campaign for positive change. During this period, many welfare activities are being undertaken, including health check-ups, cleanliness awareness, de-addiction, and environmental protection. She also administered a pledge of de-addiction to the gathering and urged people to commit themselves to building a healthy and clean environment.

At the camp, specialist doctors conducted health check-ups for divyangs and issued medical certificates. Assistive devices were also distributed to those in need. Guests present at the program appealed to people to “plant a tree in the name of their mother.”

The event was attended by MLA Shri Bhulan Singh Maravi, District Panchayat President Smt. Chandramani Paikra, Vice President Shri Rekhlal Rajwade, District Panchayat CEO Shri Vijendra Singh Patle, Murli Manohar Soni, District Red Cross Society President Shri Babulal Agrawal, along with several public representatives and a large number of citizens.
