Chief Minister Meets US Consul General

Aizawl, Sept 2025: Today, Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma met Ms. Kathy Giles Diaz, Consul General of the US Consulate General, Kolkata, at his office. The meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere to strengthen mutual understanding and explore avenues for cooperation in Mizoram.

Ms. Kathy Giles Diaz appreciated Mizoram’s progress and development initiatives. She noted that the Mizo community in the United States is substantial and well-settled, contributing positively to both the US and Mizoram. She expressed her pleasure at visiting Mizoram and emphasized that US companies are keen to explore investment opportunities in the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted that investment in Mizoram could be facilitated through foreign funding and support from the central government, and observed that the Mizo community in the US has maintained strong ties with the state. He added that US involvement could open new avenues for development in Mizoram, benefiting both local residents and the diaspora community.

Also present during the meeting were Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister, and other officers from the Chief Minister’s Office.
