“This is not just a run, but a people’s movement for nation-building”: CM Rekha Gupta
New Delhi, Sept 2025 : As part of the ongoing ‘Seva Pakhwada’ and to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, a special ‘Namo Run’ took place today across Delhi. The run began from 15 different locations and concluded at Central Park in Connaught Place.
Welcoming the participants, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the event showcased the energy, determination, and spirit of Delhi’s youth in contributing to nation-building. Over 7,500 children and young people enthusiastically joined the run, held under the banner of ‘Viksit Delhi’.
Youth Committed to Building a New India
The event was attended by Delhi Government’s Education and Energy Minister Ashish Sood, along with officials, coaches, and physical education teachers. Participants were honoured with medals, certificates, and special awards.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the Namo Run is more than a race, it is a people’s movement to realise Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Delhi’ (Developed India, Developed Delhi). She added that the run symbolises a new India, a strong Delhi, and unwavering dedication to public service. Thousands of participants, from children to young adults, joined with great enthusiasm, reflecting that India’s youth are fully committed to shaping a bright future for the nation. She also highlighted that today, under the Tricolour at Central Park, the city’s youth took a pledge to actively contribute to the nation’s progress.
The Chief Minister emphasised that India can only become self-reliant and developed if young people work hard and play an active role in nation-building. She also remembered the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, who sacrificed his life for the country at just 23, inspiring future generations to take responsibility for the nation.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood said that the Namo Run is not just a sporting event but a symbol of collective determination and public participation in building a strong Delhi and a developed India. The massive turnout of children and young people proves that Delhi’s citizens are united in realising Prime Minister Modi’s vision. The youth gathered under the Tricolour sent a clear message: when young people work with dedication, energy, and self-reliance, the future of the nation is bound to be golden
