Chief Minister Visits 600-acre Anchorwala Nandi Sarovar, Nandan Van, and Wildlife Sanctuary Near Karaghogha, Kutch
Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel visited the 600-acre Anchorwala Nandi Sarovar, the Nandan Van, and the Forest Sanctuary near Karaghogha in Mundra Taluka, Kutch. Following his inspection of several initiatives—including the 600-acre Anchorwala Nandi Sarovar, the 225-acre Nandan Van, which is being developed with five lakh trees, and the wildlife sanctuary at Bhagwan Mahavir Pashu Raksha Kendra in Anchorwala Ahinsa Dham, Mundra—the Chief Minister applauded the institution’s dedication to environmental conservation and animal welfare.
After the recent heavy rains in Kutch, the Chief Minister marked the influx of new water in Nandi Sarovar, one of three lakes spanning 600 acres, by performing a traditional ritual with coconut and planting trees near the lake. He then visited the picturesque Nandan Van, which is being developed across 225 acres. Each year, approximately 50 thousand trees are planted, and the forest now boasts over 2.50 Lakh mature trees.
The Chief Minister reviewed several initiatives, including 200 acres of nutritious grasses for cattle, a nursery where Ayurvedic and native plants are raised, the Nandi Sarovar Seed Bank with 170 types of seeds, and a 21-lakh-liter water tank that meets the water needs of 350 acres of land. He also examined cowsheds for healthy, crippled, blind, and sick animals in Nandan Van, animal shelters housing over 3,000 animals, Govardhan Parvat, Tapovan Dham, Kailash Upavan, Gokul Dham, Vatsalya Dham, Vrindavan Dham, and the free-roaming wildlife sanctuary. The Chief Minister was briefed on the organization’s current operations and future vision.
On this occasion, the trustees informed the Chief Minister about the development of a large, well-equipped clubhouse in Nandan Van, intended for educational programs, training sessions, research, and international seminars on life-saving techniques and environmental issues for farmers and students. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, during his visit, praised the organization’s commitment to environmental and animal protection and assured government support for these initiatives.
On this occasion, the Trustees of the Institute—Shri Mahendra Sangoi, Shri Dayalal Ukani, Shri Rajesh Sorathiya, Shri Shivji Chhabhadia, Shri Jigar Chheda, Shri Dilip Deshmukh, Smt. Chayaben Gadhvi, Smt. Shantaben Anchorwala, Smt. Manjulaben Sangoi, Smt. Jayaben Gangar, Shri Mahendrasinh Jam, and other dignitaries—warmly welcomed the Chief Minister with a tilak and flower garland. Also present were MLA Shri Anirudhdh Dave, Municipal President Smt. Rachnaben Joshi, Mundra Taluka Panchayat President Shri Mahipatsinh Jadeja, Shri Dhaval Acharya, and Shri Sanjay Thakkar.
