Joint Secretary and Central Prabhari Officer Smt. Padmini Singla Visits Aspirational District Mamit
Mamit, Sept 2025 : Today, Smt. Padmini Singla, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles & Central Prabhari Officer for Aspirational District Mamit, visited Mamit town. She conducted meetings with various local officials and Heads of Offices.
During the meeting, the Central Prabhari Officer emphasized that the initiatives and programs under the Aspirational District mission in Mamit should be effectively implemented, in line with NITI Aayog’s guidelines. Various schemes previously sanctioned and funds released should be properly utilized by the local population. To ensure the district achieves progress as an Aspirational District, coordination among different departments is essential, and new projects must be carefully planned and executed.
Ms. Carolyn L.B Khiangte, Additional Deputy Commissioner, highlighted the work already carried out under the Aspirational District program, detailing key activities and usage of funds. This year, Mamit district has been ranked 14th in the delta ranking, with Rs 19 crore sanctioned for district development initiatives.
During the meeting, the Central Prabhari Officer discussed the progress and challenges faced by various line departments. She provided guidance on project implementation, particularly under Window-II (Innovative Project Category), where 19 projects under the Central Prabhari Officer’s supervision were reviewed and necessary directions provided.
Smt. Singla also conducted site visits across the district, including District Hospital, Government Mamit College, nine Anganwadi Centres, Health Wellness Centres in Chhimveng and Hmarveng, Common Service Centre in Bazar Veng, and Vaubekawn community areas. She inspected ongoing activities, training programs, and development initiatives to ensure smooth implementation and proper monitoring.
The site visits were accompanied by Mr. K. Laltlawmlova, District Bawrhsap, and Ms. Carolyn L.B Khiangte, Additional Deputy Commissioner.
