Saras Products Now Up to ₹600 Cheaper Due to GST Reduction, Says Dairy Minister

Jaipur, Sept 2025 : The Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Devasthan, Shri Joraram Kumawat, inaugurated the Saras Parlor at the State Secretariat premises on Monday. He said that the parlor will provide high-quality meals and snacks at reasonable rates to Secretariat staff, personnel visiting from other departments, and the general public.

Speaking to journalists after the inauguration, he stated that the central government’s reduction in GST rates has made Saras products more affordable for consumers. Earlier, Tetra Pack milk and paneer were taxed at 5% GST, which has now been exempted. Additionally, GST on ghee, butter, and flavored milk has been reduced from 12% to 5%, making a 15-kg tin of Saras ghee ₹600 cheaper. Flavored milk is now ₹3 cheaper, 100 g of table butter ₹4 cheaper, 500 g of table butter ₹18 cheaper, 200 g of paneer ₹3 cheaper, and 1 kg of paneer ₹18 cheaper. This is expected to boost sales of Saras products and allow customers to purchase high-quality products at lower prices during Diwali.

During the event, Dr. Krishnakant Pathak, Secretary of the Personnel Department; Dr. Samit Sharma, Secretary of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Dairy; Mrs. Shruti Bhardwaj, Administrator & Managing Director of Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation; and Manish Faujdar, Managing Director of Jaipur District Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., Jaipur, unveiled a “GST Savings Festival” poster, which was displayed on the parlor’s wall.
